THE LIGHT CENTRE’S 7-WEEK QIGONG BEGINNERS COURSE

Qigong, also written Chi Kung (and many other ways besides) means breathing skill, or energy skill. It is a traditional exercise practiced in China and other Eastern countries since antiquity.

The following outlines is what to expect during a Qi Gong classes – it is best to wear loose, warm clothes (although you can do Qi Gong anytime, any place!)

What is Qi
a brief introduction as to why we do Qi Gong and how Qi flows through and effects the body and mind
·
Warm –ups:
gentle stretches and breathing exercises to help us ‘arrive’ and to  prepare
ourselves
·
The Starting Posture:
opening the body to receive Qi, nuances of standing, breath and focus
·
Effects and Symptoms
an explanation of what you might experience and why..
·
The Movements
18 movements repeated 6 times in sequence with full demonstration and instructions given
·
Questions and Answers and advice as to when and where to practice
