Elisabeth has for many years provided therapeutic intervention and services based on the Human Givens approach to a wide range of people. Elisabeth deals with all forms of emotional distress including general anxiety, anger, depression, self-harm, phobias, post-traumatic stress, panic attacks, self confidence and relationship issues. She intuitively knows how to help people put meaning back into their lives, by awakening innate resources and strengths in her clients which help meet their basic human needs of being in control, feeling cared for and loved, having fun, being part of a wider community, feeling safe, and being stretched. She helps her clients set clear achievable goals, helps them to become aware of how the brain functions under stress and how often unhelpful patterns of past behaviour and reactions stop us fulfilling our potential today. She will also teach you relaxation techniques which you can use at home.

As a Human Givens therapist Elisabeth tailors each session to individual needs, and she will not dwell unnecessarily on the past. She will increase your self confidence and independance and make sure you feel better after every consultation. Her goal is not to keep you in therapy, but to help you draw and build on your own resources (which may prove greater than you thought!). Each session will last one hour, and you will be sent a form to fill in prior to first seeing her, so that the first session is used as fully as possible.

Elisabeth also specialises in working with children, adolescents and their families, particularly those with high functioning Asperger's Syndrome. She has Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau clearance.

Having a close family member with high functioning Asperger's Syndrome has given her a particular interest and expertise in working with young people at the high functioning end of the autistic spectrum and she is fully aware of the difficulties these young people face both within family life and in the world outside. She has worked for four years as a Consultant Psychotherapist at Hillingdon Manor School, a specialist school for children on the autistic spectrum.
While there she wrote the emotional literacy syllabus for students aged 12-19 years of age and to taught it. She also saw most students on a one- to-one basis and supported staff and parents where necessary. She has recently left the school to concentrate on her private practise.
