Overview of Ayurveda

Ayurveda is the ancient ‘science of life’ which has been practiced in India for over 5000 years. Ayurvedic philosophy states that all disease begins with an imbalance in the individual's physical, mental or spiritual being and often in some combination.

This profound science denotes that our bodies are made up of five elements, namely Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth which are the same elements that make up the entire universe. These elements give rise to three primary life forces (doshas), Vata, Pitta and Kapha which in various combinations produce our own unique constitution (prakruti).
The fundamental aim of Ayurveda is to treat the root cause of the problem rather than simply treating the symptoms by balancing the mental and physical doshas. Using herbs, diet, exercise, yoga, massage, aromas, mantras, and meditation as a preventative and therapeutic intervention, Ayurveda is able to restore the dynamic state of balance to achieve true well-being.

How can I benefit?

Using natural interventions, Ayurveda can help prevent, treat and manage acute and chronic health conditions without harmful side-effects. Some common conditions Ayurveda can address are:
-Stress and fatigue
·Compromised immune system
·Gastro-intestinal problems (IBS, constipation etc)
·Arthritis/Rheumatism/joint stiffness
·Insomnia
·Headache/Migraine
·Skin Conditions
·Respiratory Conditions
