A major focus of the therapy is the acknowledgment that we are all bio-chemically unique and therefore for the most effective treatment, a programme needs to be tailor-made specifically for you and your needs. Most of us carry on our daily lives stressed, exhausted, foggy- headed, underperforming and call it normal. We are living fast lives, juggling work, family and social lives and haven’t time to worry about what we are eating. Optimum nutrition strives towards the achievement of optimum health, of attaining your body’s true 100% potential, what it is really capable of and the best it can be in terms of energy, mood, brain power, wellness, prevention from ailments and life expectancy. A nutritional consultation will give you the tools you need to achieve this and take you step by step through achievable diet changes that will best suit your needs. Optimum nutrition gives back to the body the natural nutrients it needs to repair, rejuvenate and heal itself without the need for chemicals. What is involved? The consultation is a two way process of working together to devise a programme that is right for you and your lifestyle. Prior to the consultation: Once your consultation has been booked, you will be sent a questionnaire to complete covering health problems, symptoms, lifestyle and current diet. During the consultation: I will discuss further details with you regarding your past diet and health issues, family medical history, current eating patterns, lifestyle, the environment you live and work in and clarification of your goals and expectations. I will give an explanation of what may be going on in the body and recommend a food and supplement options. Then together we will decide on the best course of action for you that fits into your lifestyle. Bio-chemical tests also may be recommended at this stage to help identify the best strategy, such as hair mineral analysis, food intolerance test, and digestive and hormone tests. If tests are needed, the results will be analysed, discussed and an appropriate course of action agreed with you in a second consultation. You will receive a personalised food plan, advice on lifestyle changes and recommended vitamin/mineral supplements. Follow up: During the first consultation, we will discuss how many times you potentially will need to see me. It is usual to have a first follow up after one month to check how everything is going and to make any necessary adjustments. A 2-3 month check up is then advised. There may be a need to return for any test results as the dietary plan will need to be tailored to accommodate this. On average, clients usually require three consultations to achieve optimal results. Specialist Areas Treated
