My massage studies started in 2002 at the London School of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage, which gave me a great insight in the fields of body and energy work and left me wanting to investigate further. I subsequently completed several diplomas in Anatomy and Physiology and various Massage Therapies and maintain a constant training. In my other life, I am an Executive Assistant in the Hedge-Funds industry. I have also been an active member of the London Surf Club for seven years, organising various events for the capital’s land-locked surfers. Besides I am an avid surfer, yogi and weekender DJ. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Nov.2008 Massage in Pregnancy workshop (Training with Quantum Metta, London) EXPERIENCE June 2008 Half-Ironman 70.3 Triathlon (Sports Massage Team) I have recently undergone a hip operation, and in order to prepare I started taking therapy stretching sessions with Sophie for about a year before. We worked on increasing flexibility, and maintaining strength in weak areas. In this endeavor, I have found Sophie the perfect mentor/teacher; she is full of energy and ideas, but most importantly is able to listen and adapt to my ideas and needs, both in the need to concentrate on certain areas and to increase or decrease the pressure as required. This preparation left me very well prepared for my surgery, much fitter, more flexible and in a better state of mind and well being than I would have been in. Consequently, this left me more confident and able to deal with the surgery and its aftermath. Since the surgery, we have continued our sessions, and it has once again improved my recovery and strength building; and now as I continue with these sessions as a fully fit person, I realize that this is the sort of therapy we should all undertake all the time for the general benefits we receive. I have also suggested to Sophie that she should position herself to help people such as myself with orthopedic problems, as she shows a natural talent to understand their needs, and this would be greatly beneficial to such incapacitated individuals, even though they probably don't realize this. Having run the London Marathon, I had a sports massage on the Tuesday two days after the race and the difference this made was incredible. I woke up on the Wednesday with barely any pain or aches in my legs. Definitely a must for anyone doing a marathon or any intense sporting activity, whether pre or post the event. Less than a month ago I had an accident which left me suffering from whiplash. However, thanks to Sophie’s massages, I have been able to go back to my routine. Her deep-pressure technique has relieved all the pain. She has applied different types of styles and pressures depending on what my neck and body needed. After having her wonderful massages, I always feel as if some kind of magic has been applied on me. I feel so relaxed and without pain.
