I graduated at the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine and I am fully registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), the regulating body for Osteopaths. I am also registered with many of the major insurance companies.
I treat patients of all ages, from newborn babies to the older patient and each treatment is specific and tailored to you, the patient. When treating I consider posture, bio-mechanics, exercise and rehabilitation as well as giving life-style and nutritional advice.
Since qualifying I have set up my own practice in Harpenden,(Aldwickbury Clinic), worked with a number of sports teams (from local amateur to elite national; namely the Swedish National Men and Women’s Rugby squad) and have qualified in various other therapeutic modalities including Western Acupuncture, Strapping and Kinesiology Taping (K-taping), which allows for a combine approach if necessary.
Having also completed postgraduate Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CST) training, I find this form of treatment particularly effective especially when treating babies, young children and the elderly. With a keen involvement in Athletics and Gymnastics in my younger years and after 10 years of playing Women's Rugby at premiership level, I have developed a strong interest in sports injuries and believe that whether you're an enthusiastic amateur or elite professional - Osteopathy can help as a form of effective treatment, rehabilitation and as a means for injury prevention.
I am looking forward to a new exciting role as an Osteopathic lecturer in Dublin come 2012 at the Irish College Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM). This will include assisting with weekend lectures as well as overseeing a student run clinic.
I love my job as an Osteopath. Not only do I get to meet new people, but very often I am able to relieve them of pain and discomfort. I often learn something new every day and I'm passionate about the benefits of Osteopathy and how it could help you as a patient. For any questions, and to discuss if Osteopathy would be right for you, please feel free to call me.
