This year has been an interesting and full-filling year. I have taken advanced post graduate courses for the use of Acupuncture in enhancing fertility, benefiting pregnancy, preparation for labour, post-natal rehabilitation and treating children. Lifestyle, nourishment and relaxation recommendations are to help you return to the nearest possible picture of health and well being for you. Please realise that acupuncture works with you, to get to the root of the dis-ease to prevent it re-occurring. So you may need to make changes. At the Light Centre we try to work as a team to help you get the most from your-self to lead a successful, active and satisfying life. |

I am a Chinese Medicine Acupuncturist specialising in pain relief from musculo-skeletal immobility and stiffness. I work with a broad range of people to return to a comfortable and dynamic state of being, allowing free, relaxed physical movement. My area of interest lies in the flexibility of the spine. Spinal flexibility is crucial for a healthy and effectively functioning physical body. I also help woman conceive, help them throughout their pregnancy and to prepare for a natural, easier birthing process. Qi Gong Tui’na is Chinese yet holistic style of massage. It is particularly good at enhancing the effects of Acupuncture. It is very effective in its own right aiding digestive problems and woman’s cyclical discomfort. I also teach the Yi Jing style of Qi Gong which is a unique form of fluid movement meditation aiming to soothe the mind, soften stiffness and gently re-align the spine. In so doing Qi Gong strengthens the core stability muscles and prevents any further injury or pain. The Chinese acupuncture style I adopted has developed over many thousands of years. It was taught to me via an intensive, three-year, course. Prior to that I undertook an apprenticeship with a Tibhetan Buddhist monk, Ho - Yuen To, who is also a Chinese Medicine practitioner. Mr To, introduced me toYi Jing style Qi Gong, Qi Gong Tui’na and Chinese medicine. I have been practising Qi Gong and Qi Gong Tui’na for ten years now and teach Qi Gong. I taught Qi Gong Tui’na with Rosie Grandage, at the University of Westminster, for two years. |

Qi Gong Tui’na is very beneficial for…
It is performed through clothes. Please come wearing light lose comfortable clothes. I initially trained with Mr Ho Yuen To, a Tibetan Buddhist monk, as an apprentice for two years. Later I went to the University of Westminster where I studied for another year and. I went on to teach Qi Gong Tui’na with Rosie Grandage for two years at the University. |

Yi Jing style Qi Gong is movement meditation for internal strengthening. The focus for practise is in fluidity of movement with regulated breathing, visualisation aiming to generate Qi. This technique achieves great health benefits by enhancing the circulation, aids muscle relaxation and joint mobility, improves flexibility and promotes an effective immune system and metabolism. Daily practice of Qi Gong can help emotional stability, creating peace and tranquillity in life. After years of practice the health benefits are obvious as one feels energetic, healthy and rarely gets ill. Please come with an open mind and some comfy, loose clothing. I started my training with Mr To in 1993 and have not stopped practising Yi Jing style Qi Gong. Three years ago I was given permission to teach it as well. |

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) understands the optimum type of health that the body needs to be in, to conceive a healthy baby. TCM has studied health and diseases for over 5000 years. There is much information to help guide a woman through the changes during their pregnancy, as well as physically coping with the demands after the birth (i.e. breast feeding). Pregnancy, although a natural state of being at some point in most women’s life, can be a traumatic transformation. Throughout pregnancy your body must adapt to the changes in foetal growth and accommodate the extra weight. TCM can help alleviate the symptoms of Ten Top Tips to Aid Conception 1. Take up a form of gentle exercise that helps to relax you, for example Hatha Yoga or Tai Qi, or Qi Gong. To find out more about our mother and baby days please click here. |
