As a member of the BACP I am qualified to offer both open-ended and short term Counselling/Psychotherapy.
My work as a psychodynamic/integrative therapist and has been mainly influenced by a range of psychotherapeutic models and theories. This approach, I believe, has assisted me to adapt and work flexibly with a variety of clients in a collaborative and creative way.
No human being is the product of their own making. Our earliest experiences have had a profound influence on the way in which we not only think, but also behave. This in turn affects the way in which we interact with the world around us.
The therapeutic setting provides an opportunity for the exploration of problems, distresses and for an individual to gain a greater understanding of their own troubled feelings and patterns of behaviour. This exploration is with the aim of assisting the client to work toward gaining a healthy sense of fulfilment in their life.
The relationship between therapist and client is essential in that it provides support as the client moves toward engaging and dealing with both their past and present.
