Over the years I have practiced various styles of yoga from Astanga Vinyasa Yoga to Sivananda and BKS Iyengar.
I decided to train as a yoga teacher after a skiing accident & knee surgery: yoga was an important part of my recovery process and it was then that I truly appreciated the far-reaching effects of yoga on the mind, body and spirit. I qualified and started teaching in 2006.
Since 2005 I have devoted my practice & teaching to Anusara Yoga, a heart orientated practice strongly focused on the universal principles of alignment. Anusara means “To Flow with Grace” and was developed by John Friend in the 1990’s in the USA. For the past five years I have been training with John Friend and Bridget Woods Kramer, the senior certified Anusara Yoga teacher in the UK. I qualified as an Anusara Inspired Yoga Teacher in 2008. Anusara Yoga has had a profound and life enhancing impact on my life. It has opened up my practice to deeper levels of awareness both within my physical spiritual and emotional self”
At the Light Centre I teach dynamic classes with close attention to alignment detail. I take a personal interest in my student’s progress and use a multi disciplinary approach to work with students of varying ages and abilities.
