ABOUT LOLA BARBOUR, RNM, BSc, Diphe (PSYCHOTHERAPY):
Lola initially trained as a Psychiatric Nurse at the Maudsley Hospital, which is a part of King College University London. After her nursing training she spent two years working on as front line nurse, and whilst working acquired her BSc in CBT for psychosis at the IOP (institute of psychiatry) it was during this training that she became interested in the unconscious process that influences our behaviour, with this in mind she decided to start her psychotherapy training at the Arbours Association Training.

Along sides her Nursing, Lola has 8 years’ worth of experience of working both in the NHS and private practise as a psychotherapist and 15 years as a registered nurse. Lola see all her clients as individual and aims to work with in a holistic way, i.e., not just focusing on the unconscious processes but looking at other aspects of the individual’s life at might be playing a part in their current difficult. Lola is fully insured and is a registered member of UKCP (the governing body for psychotherapy) as well as NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council).

Lola has a special interest in Child and Family, and is accredited to work with adults, adolescents and family.

What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy aims to help clients gain insight into their difficulties or distress, support them in establishing a greater understanding of their motivation, and enable them to find more appropriate ways of coping or bring about changes in their thinking and behaviour.
