Born March 19th, 1962, Weymouth, UK.

Attended Boscombe Convent and Brockenhurst College.

Goldsmiths College Foundation course in art.

Laban Centre (Ba Hons).

Yoga training -

Certified Sivananda teacher (Yogi Siromani), further training includes - Satygraha with Stewart Gilchrist, Kundalini with Nidhan Kaur.
Amanda has also studied with David Svenson (Astanga), Anna Forest (Forest Yoga), Tom Logan (Iyengar) and more recently in New York with Dharma Mittra.

Growing up in Dorset, Amanda was fascinated by nature, dance and performance. She trained in contemporary dance at the Laban Centre (Ba Hons), but following a broken back due to a horse riding accident turned her attention to the healing arts. Subsequently qualifying in aromatherapy and massage therapy Amanda worked as an independent artist; writing, performing and painting.
Ten years ago she discovered yoga and through the exploration of many styles (including Iyengar, Kundalini, Ashtanga and Sivananda), she was encouraged to travel to India and qualified there as a Sivananda teacher, (Yogi Siromani).
She practices regularly with her "greatest influence and inspiration", the acclaimed London based Satygraha vinyasa and Jivamukti trained teacher, Stewart Gilchrist.
Amanda has recently begun further study with Dharma Mittra on which she hopes to build in the coming decade.

Amanda’s Classes

'Vinyasa' is the exact synchronization of breath and movement.
A Vinyasa Flow class weaves together a creative sequence of postures, including sun salutations (warming), standing postures (stabilizing), forward bends (introspective) back bends (invigorating) and twists (cleansing) linked together by the thread of the breath, gradually warming the body, stretching muscles and opening the joints and finally concluding in stillness and deep relaxation (savasana).
Amanda teaches yoga as a moving meditation - ‘an uninterrupted flow of breath, awareness, and concentration.’ Amanda brings to her teaching all of her own yoga and healing experience; encouraging and supporting every student from the novice to the more advanced practitioners with attention to alignment and using sensitive adjustments. Amanda also offers one-on-one tuition, please contact her directly for information, at -
