Pregnancy Yoga
My Pregnancy Yoga class is completely safe for all levels and beginners are welcome. For many women pregnancy is their first introduction to yoga and often becomes an integral part of their lives.  You can safely practice yoga from conception to labour and the postures can be cleverly adapted to suit individual needs.

The classes will consist of a combination of postures, breathing exercises and relaxation. By the end of the course the students should feel confident to practise on their own and will be encouraged to work with partners and friends.

It is ideal to do yoga during pregnancy as the practice will help the mother to have a healthy pregnancy and will also help to prepare the body for birth.  The practice should also help to prevent classic associated problems such as back pain and fatigue etc. It will also help maintain good posture throughout the pregnancy.

The sessions will be very practical as well as being a lot of fun. You will leave the class with a greater feeling of well being and your batteries recharged.

Gentle Yoga
All of us at some time in our life experience a problem with our body.   It could be for a number of reasons, an accident, injury, wear & tear or stress.
With patience and the right guidance yoga can go a long way towards helping, and in many cases, eradicating the problem completely.
This class will support individuals with their own problem areas whilst still maintaining the integrity of working in a group.
As well as a serious healing practice the class will be warm, welcoming and fun. Joy strongly encourages all ages and levels to come to the class.  This class is ideal for anyone working through injuries and pain.
Joy has taught yoga for approximately 20 years and was inspired to teach after recovering herself from a major back injury.  She was unable to work for 2 years and thought life as she knew it was over.
Joy has recently produced a downloadable manual on Yoga for Back Pain. It is ready to soon be launched on the internet. The book is a perfect accompaniment to the classes and will be available in February, 2008
