I have been practising yoga both on and off the mat since I was introduced to it nearly 15 years ago.

Several years ago, I discovered Astanga yoga and have tried to practise daily since.

Following an intense period of training in Goa, India, I now teach yoga at all levels, focusing primarily on Astanga and Dynamic Flow styles, though I also enjoy slower, deeper and more introspective conditioning. Here at the Light Centre, I teach both led classes and also a morning 'Drop-In' class. This allows practitioners to drop-in at any time during a two-hour period and carry out their own practise while being guided and assisted by the teacher. It's a wonderful way to really explore your practise, to focus on your breath and to work at your own pace and own level. It is also a wonderful way for a beginner to learn Astanga yoga, which is based around a set sequence which is gradually set to memory.

Astanga is a dynamic and fluid form of practise which can increase stamina, strength, vitality and also works to detoxify the body, through the use of specific breath work which builds up the internal heat. Its sequence works on the entire body, including the joints, muscles and internally, such as on the digestive and nervous systems. It can really help to improve health and fitness!
