Do you get aches and pains in your back, neck, knees? Have you tried numerous ways to overcome it - physio, massage, Yoga, Pilates? Do they help for a while but the problems keep coming back?
The human body was designed on the savannahs of Africa to be an outdoors, endurance machine. It was not designed for sitting behind desks 8 hours a day. Over a period of time desks, computers, books, TV, cars and all other sitting postures create a rounding of the upper back and shoulders. This then tends to stiffen, creating an awkward standing posture. To compensate we extend our necks and push our lower backs forward creating stresses that lead to most cases of neck and low back pain. In time these stresses also create biomechanical weaknesses in hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows and wrists.
In this class you will learn how to undo these postural stresses in your body. You will learn a routine that starts with a softening process for your upper back and then takes you through a whole body flexibility programme. The results have been proven to make a significant difference to recurrent aches and pains, even when other classes and therapies have not worked. The class is run by one of our most popular Yoga teachers, Katie Courts, and is based on a formula put together by the Centre's leading Osteopath and Principal, Mark Thompson.
Come along on Thursday mornings (1130-1230pm) and Friday lunchtimes (12.30pm-1.15pm) and find out how the class can work for you.
