Fiona started attending yoga classes 15 years ago following a lower back injury, and has not looked back since! Yoga has given her a complete sense of who she is, and allows her to go within to find that (sometimes elusive) inner peace and calmness.
Fiona trained through the Yoga Academy with Simon Low, which is recognized by the Yoga Alliance and the British Wheel of Yoga as well as regularly attending workshops and courses with leading international teachers. Her teaching style is inspired by the work of Swami Sivananda, TKV Desicachar, BKS Iyengar and Vanda Scaravelli.
Vinyasa means the exact synchronization of breath and movement. A Vinyasa Flow class weaves together a creative sequence of postures, including sun salutations (warming), standing postures (stabilizing), forward bends (introspective) back bends (invigorating) and twists (cleansing) linked together by the thread of the breath, gradually warming the body, stretching muscles and opening the joints and finally concluding in stillness and deep relaxation (savasana).
Fiona’s classes focus on a moving meditation with some dynamic postures, allowing the body to feel energized yet relaxed, the mind alert while still, and with awareness on the breath to be calm yet fluid. Allowing body, mind and breath to become one, through the practice of pranayama, asana and relaxation.
